This comprehensive course is perfect whether you are hoping to set up a cake making business or simply want to learn enough to produce high quality cakes for friends and family. During the 5 days you will learn about the principles of
cake design, the use of colour and balance of multi tiered cakes. Learn how to achieve a smooth professional finish on all your cakes. We will work on both fruit and sponge cakes; round and square; create a novelty handbag cake. Spend a day learning how to create amazing sugar flowers (roses, arum (calla) lilies, ivy) and how to wire them together to create a stunning spray. Assemble a 2 tier cake; learn how to make perfect royal icing & key piping techniques. Learn the secrets of successful modelling & special novelty effects. We will also cover how to create personalised messages and how to create beautiful sugar decorations using a wide range of cutters & moulds. Throughout the 5 day course you will work with sugar paste, marzipan, royal icing, pastillage, sugar sheets, flower paste and modelling paste.
This is a cake decorating course and does not include baking.
We will provide everything you need including cakes, icings and the use of all equipment. Just bring an apron.
